Overview

Located in Lampang, the Riverside Restaurant is a Northern Thai-style wooden house with terraces that overlook the Wang River. The restaurant is about 200 meters from the Riverside Guest House.

In addition to terraces there is an air-con room for hot summer days and nights, and satellite television in the lounge adjoining a well-stocked bar.

The Riverside offers an unusually wide selection of traditional Thai & Western food, together with live music every night.

The friendly staff are attentive, and owner Lorenza Macco speaks English, French, Italian & Thai.

Business Hours

The Riverside Restaurant opens from 11:00 to 24:00 every day.

You can also enjoy a drink while listening to live music. Live band every night from 20:00 to 24:00.

Brief History

In the 1980's, Lorenza Macco moved from Belgium to Thailand and took up residence in bustling Chiang Mai. But over time she became attracted to Lampang, a smaller town as quiet and peaceful as Chiang Mai once had been. As Lorenza's familiarity with Lampang grew, she saw the need for a meeting place where friends, musicians and tourists could eat, drink, relax and exchange ideas. When she found the right location, Lorenza opened the Riverside Restaurant alonside the Wang River in November 1985.

 

Since then, The Riverside has expanded steadily. The restaurant now houses a bakery for pastries as well as The Pizzeria, which opens at 19.00 every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evening.
